Important Information Regarding Outer Beach Camping

 All outer beach rentals require a generator (We have available to rent)

Several of our parks offer outer beach (shoreline) access opportunities to off-road vehicles (ORV's). A Suffolk County Parks Recreational Vehicle Use permit is required to enjoy these locations. Suffolk County Park Recreational Vehicle Use permits may be purchased at West Sayville, Blydenburgh, Cathedral Pines, Cedar Point, Indian Island, Sears Bellows and Smith Point. In Season they are also available at Montauk, Cupsogue and Shinnecock East. The Recreational Vehicle Use permit includes access to designated beach areas for access as well as night fishing in designated parks. If on the beach at night, everyone must have fishing equipment and must be actively engaged in fishing. This is strictly enforced. Be advised that areas on the outer beach may be closed due to beach conditions, maintenance or bird nesting. Please check the Suffolk County Parks Facebook/Twitter page or call the park of your choice to get up-to-date outer beach access information.

How to purchase the Outer Beach Permit:

  • You will need your Green Key Card

  • Your Registration

  • Your Driver’s License

  • If you do not have a Green Key you can purchase one at the same time.

  • If you have a discounted Green Key you can only purchase one discounted Outer Beach Permit
